Arrival in Maun from Johannesburg. Your guide will pick you up from the airport to and heard straight to Tsodilo. You will reach Tsodilo just before sunset where you will find your camp readily pitched. You will have time to rest and have a warm shower.
In the evening you will get an introduction to Tsodilo by a local guide while sitting around the fire. This will be the time to learn the history and traditions of the Basarwa through their folklore stories.
On this day we are spending the day in Tsodilo which will give us time to grasp and immerse in the culture of Basarwa. We start the day with breakfast and then leave for the hills to see the Basarwa paintings by the Basarwa. The local guide will be able to explain the significance of the paintings and how they came about.
In the afternoon we will do another walk with Basarwa and now take us through their way of life i.e. what they eat, how they collect their food, and their way of hunting. The day will then be summed up by an eventful cultural display by the local traditional group who will showcase their dance moves around a bonfire.
We will leave Tsodilo in the morning after breakfast heading towards Maun. We will reach Maun after midday and go to the lodge to relax. The afternoon will be an easy one giving you time to relax and prepare for yet another excursion the next day.
Light, breathable clothing is recommended for daytime, while long and short-sleeved shirts, shorts, long pants, and lightweight jacket or sweater. neutral colors such as khaki beige and olive are ideal as they blend with the natural surroundings.
